Oh my. Gray hasn't even played a regular season NBA game yet and he's already a nonfactor. Wow.

[/ QUOTE ]

Pretty self-evident, really.

Or did you want to start judging the value of picks before they've played a competitive game?

[/ QUOTE ]

Huh? That's what I just called you out for. You gave Duhon and Gray the nonfactor tag. This seems to imply that neither will ever be any good, even though Duhon has already shown what he can do in the NBA. On the other hand Gray has not, and yet he's in the same group? Furthermore, you said check back in two years for Thomas. How can the same not be said for Gray if you're not already judging him?

Dude...try to stay on topic. We were talking about Paxson's GM talents. Duhon is a nonfactor because he's irrelevant, Gray is a nonfactor because he hasn't played.

As for Thomas...pretty straightforward. The Bulls had Aldridge and traded him to Portland. Whether Aldridge or TThomas was the better talent is probably still two years away from being well-answered, imo. Hence...check back in two years. What Grey does is largely irrelevant unless he turns into the next Boozer or something...and I've seen nothing to indicate he'll be anything other than another backup NBA C.

While, I agree with your sentiment about Gray I think you have to check yourself with Duhon. He's had to play extended minutes in a lot of games, because occassionally Hinrich just goes foul crazy and sits on the bench over half the game.

What does playing extended minutes have to do with anything? Eric Snow played extended minutes last season for the Cavs, and he's a well below-average NBA PG at this point in his career.

Chris Duhon is a below-average NBA PG. He's good enough to be a decent backup, but nowhere near good enough to start on a good team.

I just don't see how drafting a player in the second round who played extended minutes on a team that advanced to the second round of the playoffs who would start for 5-7 teams in the league is a NON FACTOR when determining how good a GM is?

Let Kobe veto the deal, that means he really doesn't want out ^^

[/ QUOTE ]

Why do people even say stuff like this? You can't actually be serious can you?

[/ QUOTE ]

The Lakers front office has to do what's in the best interest for the team. Kobe has proved for the last three, soon-to-be-four, years that he cannot carry a team by himself, so it's likely in the Lakers' best interest, regardless of Kobe's trade demands, to trade him.

[/ QUOTE ]
Wouldn't another option being trying to get Kobe help? He took half the shots in the Lakers opener. How many players in the NBA are actually carrying their team alone? The Kobe hate is insane. The dude is bad at publicity but he is a sick bball player and clutch. 2 minutes left in Game 7 of the finals.... Deng vs Kobe? Come on, dont be silly.

KKF, reports surface all the time at the lakers trying to bring Jermaine O'Neal to the lakers, but as it's been reported they wouldn't part with Odom+Bynum to get it done.

Yeah cause the previous 46 minutes don't count....So glad we're not getting Kobe.

Fonkey, I totally agree about Duhon. He is a very solid PG and even better than Hinrich. Obviously Hinrich is a better scorer and maaaaybe a better defender, but as a true PG, it's not close. Duhon can break down his man and create opportunities for others. Kirk, not so much. I would have no problem with him as my starting PG.
