Re: Blackwater in a time of peace

I have to say, I came into this thread having nothing but disdain for Blackwater, just as I do for the war in Iraq, and for the Bush Administration.

After having read this whole thread, I have scaled back my disdain for Blackwater to 'distrust of Blackwater.'

I never knew the quality of the people they attempt to employee, and assuming they actually deny people who fail their background checks, this could be an impressive organization.

As a fan of capitalism, and as a fan of people who who are willing to serve their country - especially those with enough talent and toughness to have made it through the special forces - I really can't continue to hold onto my animosity toward Blackwater, ASSUMING what I've read from DblBarrelJ is accurate.

IF all the above is correct, Blackwater may be one of the few competent contractors in Iraq. They are probably still bilking taxpayers out of hundreds of millions of dollars, but at least they are qualified to do so....unlike so many other talentless hacks who are over there making millions while providing nothing.

I never thought I'd write the above when I opened this thread.

Dblbarrel,

follow the money--where does blackwater make its revenue? The rest of your arguments are superfluous at best, or completely retarded depending on the mood du jour.

[/ QUOTE ]

Blackwater makes its revenue by having a reputation as the security company to have while doing business in Iraq.

[/ QUOTE ]

What are its clients paying it for? and stop trying to evade the question.

He's aware of that, he's simply avoiding those responses, because he's waiting for someone to say "They pay for people to randomly kill people".
