Update:

Called samsung, spent less than 30 seconds waiting. The tech support guy was pretty helpful, after a few minutes of testing the monitor said it was faulty and they will be shipping me a new one. I'll get it in 7-14 business days, no way to expedite it. Still way better than most tech/customer support phone calls.

it was heads up, but i think i dropped about 20k in a little bit more hands at 5/10
