Unless he's quibbling about the fact that $150,000 is less than 5% of $3,012,500 ... it wasn't

It was 433K + 225K = 658K left in the prize pool.
They had to leave 150K to the winner, and each get 225K (2nd prize) = 58K left.
The chipcount was 24-36 so takt shold get 225K + 0,60 * 58K =260K
and AB should get 225 + 0,40 * 58K = 248K

Sorry my bad English

I read a debate concerning whether the 5% was supposed to be of the total prize pool, or of the prize pool remaining between the two players. Lee Jones thinks it is of the total prize pool. Personally, I don't think it makes much sense to prevent players from making a substantial HU deal.

I don't think there's anything to prevent them from making a substantial HU deal, just that PS won't facilitate / enforce it.

edit: & the tourney lobby states "Any final table deal must leave at least 5% of the prize pool on the table". I read that to be the entire prize pool...

5th all-in. Twice takt was way ahead, the other times he was drawing live. Can't win.

I guess when you've got 260k locked up you can't complain about running bad, but damn I'd be pissed if I was tak.

Lee Jones [Support]: Hi takt - we've reviewed the numbers. They're absolutely correct. You get $260,184.82 , illusive gets $248,648.93. You're racing for $150K exactly.

Anyone else think they should change the 5% rule about chopping?

Why use the words "prize pool on the table" if they really mean the total prize pool?
Makes no sense.

It makes perfect sense. "On the table" is the place where they are leaving "5% of the prize pool."

I don't think they looked too closely at the implications of this rule when they get more than 4000 entrants. For less than 4000 players, this rule basically says "1/2 the difference between first and second must remain in the pool" since the gap is usually about 10% of the pool.

I think that, as a player, there should be NO requirement to set aside money to play for and all of the prizepool should be available for a chop. But, Pokerstars like to give the rail a show - paritularly in signature events like these.

The full quote is: "Any final table deal must leave at least 5% of the prize pool on the table for the champion"

as in "the money is left on the table for the champion" not "5% of the remaining prize pool".

Re: *Official* WCOOP Event #5 530 NL Holdem

Hi there,

Thanks a lot to everyone for the support, I got during the tournament - allthough I was quite outnumbered by Taktloss supporters ;-)

There's no doubt that I ran really hot at the Final table. No tournament has ever been won without luck at the right moments. Taktloss played a great heads-up and probably got the better of me in some spots. However, I don't think there was many of the hands, I could have played much differently. Both AJ vs. KK and A3 vs. JJ are spots, where we both would have played it exactly the same, given reverse stacks and hands. He has the best prefop - I suck out on the flop. But no doubt I make mistakes here and there.. After 21 hours of play and being awake 35 hours ish, I certainly lost some of the details.

I also got very lucky earlier on the FT, where I suck out on Fred's AJ w/ my 99 on Jxx flop. I think the line I took was fairly good, but a lot of arguments can be said to choosing different lines.

Anyways, again - thx a lot for the support - both to me, Taktloss and the rest of the final table. This is really a part of tournament poker that makes me wan't to play more of those. (Besides that I'm a gigantic luckbox).

Kind regards,

Asger
