OP,

I can't continue reading this thread. You're driving me nuts.

Despite what you think of their return policy, I'm willing to bet that they have it posted in the store somewhere, probably right by a cash register. If not, I'm pretty sure that had you asked before you made your purchase, they would have been happy to inform you of their policy. If you had bothered to find this information out beforehand, then you could have saved yourself all of this frustration and only your close friends would have known that you're an idiot - now all of OOT knows.

It's funny how many random morons there are on this forum in particular. I would have bought the game even if I knew what the policy was assuming I still didn't know about the other game, given I wasn't expecting to return it when I bought it.

Your entire post is laughable. Are you saying I shouldn't be allowed to disagree with a policy? What about laws you know exist that you disagree with? Because they exist and because you're currently forced to live with them you're an idiot for suggesting something else?

Seriously, what you're saying is completely retarded. Have you never made a mistake in your life? Have you ever bought something without researching every other version of the same product? Have you ever been naive about anything? Have you ever done anything that you've come to regret? The amount of ignorance some of you guys have is incredible and is starting to really put me on forum tilt. Somebody lock this thread for my sanity.

Come on man, your argument is ridiculous. "If everybody did what you did, then they would lose money!" Ok? Not everybody is doing what I'm doing, so that's a moot point.

[/ QUOTE ][ QUOTE ]

But if a store was known for this policy, everyone would. Are you serious?

[/ QUOTE ]

Your argument is that if there is a policy that can be abused that people will abuse it. Do you realize how many companies have policies that can easily be abused by anybody, yet they still use them?

[/ QUOTE ]

Right, like Costco! Its' return policy is awesome! I can return a TV, like, 4 years after I bought it!

Why post this problem if you're just gonna get mad at everyone who disagrees with you? You asked for opinions, so don't go off on everyone for offering them (even if 100% say you're wrong.) And why do you keep posting here if it bothers you so much? Just accept your mistake (and the fact that everyone in OOT thinks you're an idiot) and don't read this thread anymore.

Plenty of people have disagreed with me in this thread and I didn't get "mad" at them. It's the people who come in to this thread who act like complete dbags and don't even try to make a reasonable argument. Instead they basically tell me if I don't like the policy then to either shop somewhere else, or open a new store, as if that is practical in the least (maybe the former). What, I'm not allowed to voice my opinion on something I think is stupid just because it is the policy of the store and I was forced to accept it? What if the US government somehow bans online poker. Now you vent on a forum like this for example. It's like if somebody says to you, "it's a law, you have to abide by it. Move to another country or shutup you idiot."

I realize it's not the same thing, but christ some people on this forum seem incapable of making a post that doesn't make you want to punch them in the face irl.

Can't they use some common sense to realize that I deserve a reasonable refund in my case

[/ QUOTE ]

They seem to think 20$ is a reasonable refund, if u dont agree sell it to someone else or keep it yourself.

Also I dont understand why they should give u a reasonable refund, shouldnt they give u the worst refund ur willing to accept? That way they make the most money

[/ QUOTE ] It's more like if everyone get tired of poker or start credit card scamming too much, so that online poker sites are no longer profitable. And then you whine when they don't offer you online poker anymore and nobody wants to play with you, even though you never committed credit card fraud. OOT will then tell you that if you want to play poker, either go to a casino or start up your own online poker site if you think it's such a good idea, and you go on monkey tilt.

i will never understand the enjoyment that forum trolls apparently get by managing to convince other people that they are complete morons, i mean i kind of get that you think you are getting one over on people, but when you think about what you are actually accomplishing i really don't think you win

Here are my 2 cents: don't buy at gamestop/ebgames.

Re: This kinda pissed me off

OP,
the fact that every other video game store that sells new games has the same policy should tell you something. i remember being pissed off when this same thing happened to me like 4 years ago, but i realized that this is pretty standard.

if you are upset by this policy you have a few options:

1) boycott this store, and don't buy video games from stores that have this policy. this would mean that you woudl never buy a new video game, which actually might not be a bad idea.

2) it sounds crazy, but if you truly believe that it is in the companies best overall economic interest to have the sort of policy you desire, you should write up a business plan and try to make it happen. i suspect that if you did this, you would realize some of the shortcomings of this model. to save you some time, the goodwill created by a great return policy would not make up for the fact that profit margins would be so low that making money off selling new video games would be impossible.

i havent read this whole thread, and i realize i could be rehashing things that have already been said, sorry if that is the case.
