My only problem is not seeing the Glaive from Krull on this list. That was badass.

I totally opened this thread to post that.

Other notable things missing :

Roger Rabbit's living bullet gun

Planet destroyer from Ender's Game

Chuck Norris' hands

Light sabers for #1 - and it shouldn't even be close. Maul's saber can come off the list as a seperate weapon though.

why, cause it's a laser sword? big [censored] deal. unless you're a jedi it just means you have a sword.

lol at Contra Spread Gun

[ QUOTE ]
We’re not sure what it’s shooting—could be baby tomatoes, could be rubber clown noses—but the Spread Gun is more important to the Contra series than the Konami Code itself. It’s so useful that accidentally getting a different weapon when you already have it is worse than getting killed.

Thunder Blade
While attending the Thunder Academy, Blake was given the Thunder Blade by his Sensei. Since then, he has been training in using the staff with a Thunder Academy graduate, and finally brought it out to defeat a balloon monster.

In Red Alert 1 you could edit the .ini file to change any weapon's range/damage and give any weapon to any unit. When I played EVERYTHING was a Tesla coil.

Naw, Windforce was the name of the Unique bow you could get. I think you are thinking of the bugged sword with the runes in it that people created and duped. I don't remember the name of it but my barb had one at one point.

Edit: ShaelEthSomething... it was named after the runes it it iirc.

Yeah, I remember that as well. I guess it wouldn't make much sense to put a bugged item from a video game on the list. Still a good choice and and I salute your brining D2 into the conversation.

Re: Top 50 Fictional Weapons of All Time

Clearly light sabers should be number one. How do spidey's web slingers not make the list? I've always thought the Clingon Batleth was pretty cool. Can't you people read? The death star didn't make the list because it cannot be wielded...which was a qualification.

Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship.

Green Lantern Ring...solid 1 choice other than light saber. You could make your own lightsaber from the ring and hold it like a penis ala Space Balls.

Re: Top 50 Fictional Weapons of All Time

If Capt America Shield as well as the Tron frisbees make the list then I think Wonder Woman's Magic Lasso deserves consideration.
I mean, yeah it's just a lasso. But it could kind of move on it's own IIRC and then it made you tell the truth.
LDO that's a pretty powerful weapon.

And don't the Batman belts with their 8-zillion gadgets technically count as weapons? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be allowed through the airport with one of those things.

Also pretty sure that a couple of James Bond's gadgets are unrealistic enough that they can count as fictional-weapons.
