doesnt a voting format work a lot better when the people involved dont know each other?

the online poker community, especially the one of people that are big winners online is so small that youd likely get people that know each other very well, thus hurting the voting system.

i think the person being able to choose who he wants to play sort of negates that and creates a system of checks and balanaces.

for example, lets say we all know durrrr is the best player in the house, so we're going to vote him. he then is at right to pick YOU to play for your elimination. so, do you want to have to face durrrr at your risk?

conversely, you can pick someone weak... but then only strong players are left in the house.

so i think there is some mind game psychology involved.

still, im thinking of alternative formats.

I think a real world type show with a bunch of 21 yr old poker degens living in a mansion in Miami/Vegas/LA would be less cheesy and more entertaining......

because someone like DN or PH would make the show all about them, and also teh commentary will be the standard terrible rubbish like every other poker show.

a bit leftfield but i wouldnt mind someone like laak/esfadiari doing it, since it'll be pretty solid pokerwise, funny and also they've clearly been looking to get into tv.

agreed. i think voting people out of the house would change the whole show(for the worse). i pictured it basically being real world on steroids. partying all the time, etc... but just doing things way more expensive and crazier than the people on real world do. jumping in shark tanks for money, spending large amounts of money on ridiculous things, focusing on how all these young people make ridiculous amounts of money in a lot of different ways, etc...

nah, from my experience we chuck money around in a very different way to trust fund babies.

imo it would be awesome to see how young guys who make money gambling treat/spend money, everyone who ive ever met tahts not a poker player finds it amazing/weird at the same time

Yeah, agree with this. You also want a presenter (hot bade ldo) who is clueless about poker (and not rich perhaps) and is genuinely amazed at all the money these guys are splashing about. (She represents what the viewer thinks.) And an interview section where you ask these guys whats the most they've spent in a day, won in a day, lost in a day etc. And have these winnings/losings happen on the show. Online competetions where everyone has 10K bankroll (or whatever, probably bankrolled by themselves, so whatever is appropriate to the stakes they normally play.) and whoever ends up with the greatest percentage gain wins the competition. And the presenter comes on and says, unbelieveable, this guy just lost/won the price of a ford focus in half an hour. On screen prop betting competitions would be good.

But yeah, you also want the voting and the competitions I think. But infusing it with what will be unique and fascinating to a viewer who doesn't care about poker is important.

Have the house somewhere outside the US, i believe there was a Real World: Ontario or something of the sort...its certainly possible to be filmed outside the US, which would take care of all the lagality problems..?

very good point, and if it comes to that, overseas is a fine alternative (vancouver, london, monte carlo, etc).

i think they should keep the 2p2 down to a minimum. sure we want to see "us" on there but thats not gonna make a good show. "look im baller" shows have been done and sure it might be fun for an episode but i think id b better to sprinkle this out moderately throughout a season.

Also, it would be cool to get a big yacht with 20 cabins and sail around the world. each city the poker players go terroize the poor people and steal a few of their women jump on a boat and sail to the next island/harbor, etc. (Im considerign this anyway obv)

I could go on abotu what I would watch, btu i think id b more interesting to the avg joe if u just got random crazy people and let them try to make it as poker players. This is what the public would like so they could relate to it etc. Maybe the show gives them $1000 bankrolls and every week they kick out the poorest and the bustos.

but if your using real pros, i would love to be in this
