no, he's just another moron who thinks he has the solution to the world's problems. the difference is most morons aren't going to kill a bunch of people for a little attention.

[/ QUOTE ]

who are you to say his solution isnt the correct one?

[/ QUOTE ]

That's right. If just everyone in this thread each killed 5 people, and then those 5 people each killed 5 more, and so on, overpopulation would be SOLV---...oh wait.

Yeah, never mind.

[/ QUOTE ]

Idiot, actually. Well laid plans don't clear you of mental deficiency. Murdering somebody because you're angsty is generally considered psychotic behavior. Now to say that somebody was simply "crazy", rather than look into what may have drove them to madness, is sadly the first reaction, and the wrong one.

edit:

i'm not calling you an idiot, btw.

I always find it sad how much violence is created by someone's dance recital getting missed. This kid clearly never recovered from mommy missing his.

This kid's MySpace profile read like a future serial killer's resume. Anyone who likes that much bad music is going to snap eventually. Natural law will tell you that.

Like Dennis Miller once said, you can't save everyone, just try not to be living close to them when they go off.

"This kid's MySpace profile read like a future serial killer's resume."

I hate comments like this.

1000s of over dramatic kids have stupid fatalistic myspaces, youtubes and whatever. Most of my writing in the 6th grade was about brutal dismemberments and murders, same for basically half the dudes in my class and 3 of of the girls.

It's something kids do, a lot of kids, most of whom turn out to be pretty damn normal.

yeah, I used to play dungeons and dragons, make pipe bombs, and listen to heavy metal (as did all my friends). Im sure if I snapped and went on a killing spree, it would have been "obvious" to everyone this was bound to happen given my hobbies.

Terhi Vayrynen, 17, a student at the school told The Associated Press that her brother Henri Vayrynen, 13, and his classmates had witnessed the shooting of the principal outside the school through the classroom window.

She said the gunman then came into Henri Vayrynen's class shouting: "Revolution! Smash everything!"

When no one did anything, he shot the TV and the windows of the class room but did not fire at the students. The he ran out and down the corridor, Terhi Vayrynen said.

They were evil monsters. They were not cowards, and they may have been right that that might have been the best way to pursue their goals. I don't think that absolves them of moral failure.

I think there's definitely room for a considerable degree of relativism, but I'm very skeptical of any moral system that considers 9/11 an acceptable means to an end. Nor do I think that you believe this, except as an intellectual exercise.

[/ QUOTE ]

An excellent point? To reiterate, the point is, "Who are we to say that shooting up a school is wrong?" The answer is obviously that we are adults of normal intelligence with the capacity to make moral judgments.

EDIT: What I said wasn't even parody. Schoolgirl says, "Please don't kill me." Crazy (or perhaps "differently sane") Finn says, "No I'm going to kill you." OOT says, "Man, that was evil." Alobar says, "No guys, don't rush to judgment here. They both make valid points."
