Re: Update

I open QTs in MP, donkey on my left call with some others ATx flop. I bet, donkey raise, blind calls two, I call. Turn Q, I c/r and blind stares me down like a minute before folding. I value town the river and beat AK.

Like five hands later I open AA same donkey calls along with blind. 762 two clubs. I bet, donkey raises, I three, he cap. all along the blind who was fairly tight called. turn is a red 8, I bet, donkey just calls now which means I am good here 10000% o the time, blind also calls. River if the Jc and I wuss out and just check call the river to lose to donkeys J7o.

I raise 44 UTG (stfu lol), some people call, I bet and am raised on 652, just call the turn but it went a couple bets, river three and I whiff on my c/r lol I suck. but why would I ever have a 4 there, EVER.

Some people limp, I limp Th9d in the CO. Like 7 ways to the flop of QJx two diamonds. Some guy bets and I call. Turn is the 8 of diamonds and I raise. river is some stupid card and he check call. I flip my hand like it is the straight nizzles and he rolls 62d for the flush.

I won a HUGE pot with UI JJ against people who don't know how to play this game and called my value bets the whole way.

I won a HUGE pot with A7 on a AT7xA board after two bets pf like 5-6 ways, then capped OTF three ways, turn and river they just called my bets...homeboy had...KK lol.

then some stupid things happening and I left. Frond is probably there winning a million dollars right now because I gave him a lucky chip. and my chips were in fact lucky tonight.

well. i know for a fact i contributed at least a few bets to your virtual stack. whatever it takes to get Harvester Dave back into the swing of things.

like this hand for instance(memory is a bit fuzzy here):

i limp 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7x UTG, there might be a limper, Harvester raises on the button, blinds fold(i think), i limp reraise because that's the standard play with aces these days and someone the hand prior LRR Harvester's LP raise, any limpers between us fold, Harvester caps that [censored], two to the flop.

Flop(probably 9 or so sb): Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]x [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]x nondiamond

i check, Harvester bets, i call.

Turn(5.5bb): Kx

i check, Harvester bets, there's no way he's bluffing at this point, but since i'm an optimist i weight AJ heavily into this range and decide calling down is best to "keep him honest", so i call.

River(7.5ishbb): 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

i check, Harvester bets, i think about c/r but decide he's such a fish he'll call with anytwo cards so i just valuecall. he shows K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] for a tremendous suckout postflop. damn he's lucky. they say it's better to be lucky than good, though.

as a postscript, at some point the table was chastising Harvester for his horrible play(not this hand specifically; probably a bigger picture-thing). of course i joined in the chorus(and possibly instigated a bit, just don't remember).

ah, gotta love the micros.

I think it had something to do with a hand where I 3bet a LAG's CO openraise out of the SB with A4s. The BB decided to coldcall the 2 more & the LAG came along. Of course I flopped teh nut flush & then pwned the BB with a most excellent turn c/r after he flat called my flop bet.

I just played this hand on Full Tilt. Villain is awful, totally transparent.

Heads Up 1/2 Limit Hold'em

Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Villain raises, hero three bets. Flop is 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero bets, villain calls. Turn is 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero bets, villain calls. River is 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Hero VALUETOWNS, villain has like a pregnant pause and raises, hero CALLS, knowing his hand is THE NUTS. Villain tables T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and my hand is goot.

it should be noted that your VPIP when i sat down was something like 95%. pfr wasn't far behind. prob in the 70s. you might want to tighten up. no wonder you caught hell for 3betting A4 pf from the sb.

and for the record, i will start to try to play less predictably.

that last hand at the table(that made me a sweet 1BB winner for the night ) i LRR AA UTG. i caught pretty good action on the AJ945 board(had a fd on the flop). i was hoping everyone thought i had 77 again and i guess they did. on second thought, i don't remember if i LRR or not...man. i do remember discussing the finer points of the taco bell menu that night. a vibrant convo if i say so myself.

That reminds me...today is cheap taco day at taco bell!

I suspect that we had a drunken donkfest on .25/.50 before, because your starting stats at the table were something like 80/43. I think by the end of the table session your nittery had got the VPIP down below 70. As you know, I normally play a much more respectable 45/30 game.

As far as playing less predictably goes, once a guy has seen you 3bet with 42s, you never really have to worry about predictability again.

So I just had two losing sessions in a row (-2 BB and -15 BB). This hasnt happened since last October. Some of it is running bad (not hitting any draws) but I think I've played quite poorly the last few times out. I think I let my big wins recently get to my head.

I think its time to tighten up preflop and quit getting involved in marginal situations til I get my head on straight.

Agree?

BTW: sweated 2+2 Grease in the 20/40 yesterday. it was actually more fun doing that than playin in the 10.

Re: Update

I was in Vegas this past weekend and had a pretty good run at the tables. One pretty funny thing happened to me at the Bellagio while I was there.

I headed to the Bellagio pretty much immediately after checking into the hotel at around 10pm and got in a $15/$30 game. I've been at the table maybe 30 minutes and it is obvious that almost everyone at my end of the table is just really grouchy. This guy to my right seems nice enough though and keeps whispering things to me... you know the standard "OMG I HAD T7o AND WOULD'VE FLOPPED THE STRAIGHT", or "ZOMG do you think he was bluffing?", to which I'm just giving a standard "yup, uh huh" reply.

Anyways, guy to my right gets involved in a hand with this super nitty woman w/ sunglasses on. I can't remember the action, but basically it is super obvious that lady has a flush and guy to my right c/f to her on the river. He then whispers to me "she totally had the flush". "Uh huh" I say.

About 15 seconds later the lady says to me "Why don't you put your money where your mouth is young man!" "Excuse me?" I reply. "I said why don't you put your money where your mouth is?" I obviously have no bloody clue what she is talking about and tell her as much.

"YOU TOLD HIM HE SHOULD HAVE CALLED! WHY DON'T YOU JUST STICK TO PLAYING YOUR OWN HANDS!" she says to me. I explain to her that I was simply agreeing with the guy to my right's assessment, and really offered no advice of my own. She obviously doesn't believe me. I burst out laughing at this point at the absurdity of it all. I then ask my end of the table in an obvious joking fashion, "man, you guys are all so mean!" "You bring out the worst in us," the lady responds. I burst out laughing again... about 30 seconds later the dealer looks at me with a smile on his face and says "just watch it, OK?" LOL.

Fortunately, this whole situation loosened the table right up, and I think I finished up about 10 bets. The Bellagio games were great the whole time I was there.

I feign weakness...oh wait

Just remembered a funny hand from a few weeks ago.

A tricky, aggro player was seated to my left. He loved to "play the player," so to speak.

It was 8 handed, and it folded to me in the hijack. I bumped it up with AJo. CO folded and he 3 bet the button. I called and pretty much decided I was calling down the whole way on most boards.

The flop came down an ugly Q56. I checked, he bet, I frowned and called.

The turn was a 9. I checked, he bet, I looked slightly disgusted and called.

The river was 5. I grimaced and checked, he bet. I called instantly.

He had KT and I scooped.

He told me he read me for me weakness.

"Good read," I said, and stacked the chips.

Just wanted to let y'all know that I didn't die in a fiery toaster accident or anything. Working a regular day job again sucks, by the way...it's a good job overall, but this whole having to wake up at a set time for something other than a poker tournament thing blows. As does actually having to drive to work.

My bankroll is pretty much non-existent, although I haven't decided if I'm truly busto or not; technically I never lost my monies, I just had to pull them all out for incidental expenses like food & rent. Well, I still have like $200 on FTP & Stars. Combined.

Today marked 30 consecutive days without playing a hand for me, so of course I commemorated the occasion (I probably spelled both of those words wrong) by playing 400 hands. I figured I'd be rusty, but GB .25/.50 for taking postflop play out of the game. Up 58 BBs for the session; I plan to take my winnings to Denny's.

Anyway, I just missed you guys so I figured I'd drop by & say hello. Oh, guess I have to post a hand or something...gawd, I love people who slowplay teh nutz all the way to the river:

Floppping a set is one of the greatest feelings in live LHE. I especially like flopping low sets cause they can be so well hidden. Hit quite a few last night early on. You can almost feel the huge pots slowly being pushed towards you during the hand. I like high sets as well. Hand from last night's game.

I am in like CO with JJ and I raise, a few callers, BB 3 bets, one other comes along, I cap. 5-6 of us in

Flop comes 5J6r, BB bets out, one raise, I 3 it, someone caps, BB folds but shows the guy right next to him who is still in the hand his cards. Dealer says he can't do that and shows the table his cards which were QQ!!! Like 5 of us still in. Turn comes a Q!!! He is steaming now. I end up getting paid off really well. BB was a pretty loose player and don't know why he folded other than he probably put me on exactly what I had but folding QQ there?
