I read somewhere OXM gave Halo 3 a 9.0 which is alot worse then Halo 2. I also read Halo 3 Campaign mode can be as short as 6 hours.

How long did it take to beat the first 2 on easy while just plowing through at full speed? Not much longer I wouldn't think. I'm not expecting a campaign mode of more than 10-12 hours on a moderate difficulty. As long as it looks [censored] awesome and plays great it will be fine, especially with the 4 player online co-op and whatnot, should be a good deal of replay value there, and well, lets face it, multiplayer is where its at anyways.

they can be hard to find on the first day at standard stores, but you'll never have to wait for more than a week.

My class ends at about 10est monday night. I'll probably just take the 20 minute drive to my local electronics giant chain from there. I don't really like feel being at the back of the line only to have the stock sold out when I finally get to the front.

Yeah, I won't be there until a little later, closer to midnight. I called them tonight and they guarantee it to be there no matter what time I get there and if I don't make it then they said I have a 48 hour window where they hold it for sure for me.

Well it turns out most chains will be overstocked anyways. Good to know.

I'll probably do the same thing I did with Halo 2. Go through the campaign on Normal just to get it over with and see the ending (hopefully it's a little better than H2's, which left something to be desired). I know that once I start matchmaking it's going to be hard to go back to the campaign.

Yeah, I've never played the halo 2 campaign. . . And I have logged 400 or so hours on live. lol.

From what I've seen from videos w/ the bungie guys, the campaign levels of easy and normal are meant for people who have never played halo / FPS before. A experienced halo player could probably run through the levels.

Wow. It's getting 9.5-10s all over the place. 1UP and Eurogamer also just gave it 10/10s. This definitely is a game that would get bashed if it didn't deliver, given the hype. Pretty excited to get this now. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Got my copy already.

Copped a Premium at Best Buy, but im not sure if i should open it. Best Buys return policy is a little ambigious when it comes to systems. They say you cant return "Video Games" opened and get a refund, you can only exchange. Obviously i just want to use the system for a month while mine is being fixed and then return it. Anyone have any insight.

Apparently there's an issue with the Limited and Legendary edition disks scratching due to a faulty 'holder nub.' Have you checked yours?

I would just use the new 360 so i can play Halo 3 for the month while my actual 360 is being fixed. Then at the end of the 30 days i would return the new 360 back to Best Buy for a full refund. Im just not sure they give refunds for open 360s. Ill just say someone got a PS3 for me and i prefered that or something.

4high - asked @ Futureshop (Best Buy partner here in Canada with the same rules) and they'll allow you to return an open 360... Good thing too as I'm now entering into month 3 of trying to get my Xbox repaired.

As for an excuse, don't worry about it - just say your new religion doesn't allow for the playing of video games, then ask if they want to see some brochures... They'll take it back no questions asked [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Yeah if Mass Effect lives up to its potential, wow. Halo 3 or Bioshock wont have a chance. Also be on the lookout for Call of Duty 4.

You don't need a reason. Just say you would like to return it. All they will ask is something like "Is there a problem with the unit?" Just say no, it works fine I just want to return it. They will take it back no questions asked.

I never understand why people feel the need to make up some elaborate story to return something. Just take up to the front desk, and say you want to return it. As long as it is within the 14 days or 30 days or whatever their return policy that is printed on the back of the receipt is, they will take it back no questions asked, no excuse needed.

An obivous exception to this already opened software/games. Hardware does not have the same restrictions.

Well I went and got the Limited edition. I think I was ticket #21 (so it wouldn't be a zoo once 12:00 rolled around). Good thing I got there early since once I left there must have been 100+ people there. I also got a hat, a t-shirt that says 'I PWN' (LOL) and a Fantastic Four game.

To my dismay, but not surprise, the game disc was a little scratched. There were rumors floating around that the tin cases that Limited and Legendary came in had defective holders. It'll be interesting to see how many hundreds of thousands, if not millions of disks were affected.

I've tested the disk and it works fine, I just hope I don't get to a level in the campaign or something and it freezes on me.

Boy, if there was any other reason to own an Xbox 360, I probably would. I just can't justify it for one game that I really want to play.. with a keyboard and mouse. Enjoy the new game, fellas! It looks great!

The graphics on this game are amazing.

What makes this game nice is that it's a blend between Halo 2 and Halo 1. People who thought Halo 1 was ten times better will think this game rules, people who loved Halo 2 more will not appreciate this game as much but still will enjoy it because the graphics are amazing and tehres some cool new stuff.

Holy christ, I just got Legendary edition and the Spartan Helmet is the size of a [censored] soccer ball. I thought it was going to be small.

Also what is the deal with multiplayer? You can't get into a 16 person game until you rank up or what?

This game is [censored] amazing, just got done playing an 8 hour session. I have a new name if you guys want to add me, bautido. I'm looking for a competitive team, originally 34 in halo 2. Up to a 10 in lone wolf, 10 in team slayer, and almost sergeant second grade. Such a [censored] sweet game.
