relatively standard scoring.

i have the norwood love and dunn looks old, but he's going against a great defense. chambers is going against a poor defense, but everything about him is meh.

I think Deuce is a great start this week against Indy, don't think run defense is any better and expect 100+ and td here. Also, Caddy Williams versus Seattle with their best d-lineman out for season is a fantastic play.

Standard Yahoo League 3 Wide Recievers:
Opponents team is relatively solid, but I think my team is better. He also has Brees/Colston so the game might be high variance for me.

Smith, Evans, and...

As an aside. I feel like last year this thread should be weekly instead of monthly. Considering week 1 information is most likely useless for week 2 information(you could always go back and look) to avoid the thread from getting unruly I personally would like to see the thread become weekly.

I agree with Needle. weekly>>>>>monthly

My second WR spot in this league is screwy (12 man keeper that I won last year so I was drafting the end of every round)

I like Henderson of those, that game threatens to be a shootout

Flex position, ESPN league. There can be only one:

DeAngelo Williams, Car RB @StL
DeShaun Foster, Car RB @StL
Isaac Bruce, StL WR Car
Warrick Dunn, Atl RB @Min

Need 2 of these 3:

Marshawn Lynch
Deangelo Willaims
Randy Moss

Re: *** Official Fantasy Football Start\'em/Sit\'em Thread: SEPT ***

I like Devery but he missed weeks 2 and 3 of preseason and didn't catch a pass in week 4. Its possible he won't be at 100% and that Patten will be getting more playtime then him this week. I picked Vincent Jackson.

SL__72 09-05-2007 11:38 AM

Re: *** Official Fantasy Football Start\'em/Sit\'em Thread: SEPT ***

Polls work way better.

Austiger:
Flip a coin for Foster or Williams. Maybe someone else has some insight there, but I think one of those two will be your best bet. I'd stay away from Dunn vs. MN.

4_2_it:

Marshawn Lynch
Deangelo Willaims

is the safe way to go methinks.

SL,

Yeah. That is how I was leaning. It's just hard to leave Randy Moss on the bench.......

Re: *** Official Fantasy Football Start\'em/Sit\'em Thread: SEPT ***

Who is playing the Rotohog free league? Thoughts on my wk1 roster? I signed up late and only have about the original $300 to work with.

QB1: Cullpepper vs. Det, $28
QB2: Alex Smith vs. AZ, $34
RB1: Travis Henry @Buf, $45
RB2: Laurence Maroney @NYJ, $43
WR1: Steve Smith @STL, $39
WR2: Braylon Edwards, Pit, $22
WR3: Mark Clayton, @Cin, $19
TE1: Antonio Gates, Chi, $31
K: Nick Folk, NYG, ~$6 (up to $9 now)
Def: Raiders, Det, $19

The one I'm really not sure about is Gates vs. Chi. I'm wondering if I could better use that $ to upgrade somewhere else.

to those considering starting denagelo williams, i'm pretty sure that deshaun foster will be starting at least the first few weeks. i know and you know that williams is the better rb in the long run, but... foster is still gonna get at least half the carries.

crazy, i know.

Running back quandary:

I have LDT so he's starting LDO

Who should the 2nd back be? I have:

Maroney @ NYJ
Jones-Drew vs. TEN
Brandon Jacobs @ DAL
Adrian Peterson vs. ATL

Maroney is currently the default, but should I be taking another look at Jones-Drew?

lennytheduck 09-05-2007 01:25 PM

Re: *** Official Fantasy Football Start\'em/Sit\'em Thread: SEPT ***

Against the Jets I definitely start Maroney. Jones-Drew will have a good year though so try to play with the matchups.

Also, your team is sick. You have to be in like a 6 team league or something.

Which QB should I start?

Alex Smith has a great matchup.
Vince Young was drafted to be my starter but plays a tough defense.

River v Bears or Eli @ Cowboys

Tatum Bell @ Oakland or R Brown @ Redskins

Choose 2

J Waler @ Buff
Plax @ Dallas
Evans v. Denver

I have the same problem you do Kyro regarding Kitna. Yahoo projects him for 10 points. I have Eli Manning as my backup and Yahoo projects him for 15 points. I know Oakland's pass D was #1 last year, but I got Kitna to be my starter. Eli is against a Dallas pass D that struggled last year. He had one decent game and one great game against them last year. The poll I put up isn't really helping me decide either- It's 10-8 in favor of Kitna.

Yeah it's a 6-teamer, and my team is sick even for that, I believe.

I also have Peyton, lol.

I would just like to say that Eli looked great in the pre-season. I am NY based but not a NYG fan. That is all,

It's very close. Kitna + Martz + no running game = lots of yards and lots of turnovers. I'd say go w/ Kitna if int's aren't penalized heavily. OTOH it's slightly more tempting to play a QB throwing against Roy Williams than a QB throwing to Roy Williams.

Also, in subsequent threads, the OP should include that polls are preferred and that you should include matchups. It makes it easier on everyone who wants to reply and gets better responses for you as well

Does anyone like a SIT on the Carolina Defense against St. Louis? The best alternatives on the wire would be:

Ari @ SF
SF vs. Ari
Oak vs. Det
Buf vs. Den

I am sitting my Carolina D, but picked up seattle

I'm pretty pumped about starting Oak vs. Detroit. Should be worth a few turnovers at least!
