Ben seeing his mom is exactly like how Jack saw his dad on the island the very first season. Eerily similar.

I never understood the significance of Jack repeatedly seeing his dad appearing on the island and then disappearing.

I thought a better question would be is there any chance it's not the smoke monster? I thought that it was commonly theorized (but clearly not necessarily correct) that the smoke monster could take the shape of people/things.

[/ QUOTE ]I forget which thread it was in, but when we were talking about whether or not women could give birth on the island and Ben being born on the island, I said something along the lines of "If you were born in California, but moved to NY when you were 1 year old I'm pretty sure that you'd still tell people you lived your entire life in NY even though its not technically true."

Ben knows that he wasn't born on the island because he knows his father was offered a job and thats why they're there.

I could be wrong, but at this point I don't think so.

I know..the Monster shows up when its necessary..u dont "find" it...

4th..thats what i was wondering..but ben aged so I cant exactly find the justification for why he wouldnt age but ben does
