hey what were some of your ongame screennames if you played the 200NL anyway? I hated you 10BB bastards, though most of them added to my WR quite a bit.

Wow. Just read the whole OOT thread by the OP. Very good read sir. I'm sorry that stuff happened but I'm glad you came out of it OK.

When I first became a mod, this was my first custom title I gave out. He used to have iirc just a Pujols avatar when the whole Bonds thing was hot. But now, it has a level 2 meaning.

I find it funny that you gave me that nick over Pujols. In my own mind, I knew the double meaning right away as I have a past history of poly-substance use but am drug-free for over 7 1/2 years now. The name fit even better than you could've imagined. Your mod powers are so strong that you tap into the force. Nice work.

Possibly a bargain for you as sports betting is much tougher. However, your level at no-limit is much higher than mine at sports betting. Might be a good trade.

wow, another 'challenge' thread that'll never be accomplished!

EDIT: At the request of a resident old man here in SSNL, I do wish you the best of luck with this. However, the majority of challenge threads that start like this end up neglected 3 days later never to be bumped or returned to. If you're serious about this then by all means use us to the best of your ability and make this a reality. It certainly is possible. Good luck and we'll see you around.

[/ QUOTE ]

right on.
Challenge threads do suck because there is rarely any follow-up.
However, this is a real challenge. I would not tarnish my 10,000th post on a fake one that I don't intend to follow through. I will give this my best effort. It will be not be easy. It will be a challenge. But, I put it out here publicly to:
motivate myself
show what can be done with SSNL balla skillz
bring out both critics and supporters to keep me going

I'm kind of into myself sometimes. I thought how awesome would it be if I could actually make a big challenge and rise to the goal. It would be cool. It wouldn't make me Bald Sweaters, Zeebo, Aba20, Durrr, or any of the scores of real ballas on this site. But, it would mean mad respek at SSNL.

I do understand where you are coming from, though, as challenges almost always fall apart around here.

It's good to inform everyone of the glory that is the SSNL boondoggle 2.

ty to you and all the supporters here

I will complete this challenge.
I've already got half a day in. A few thousand hands at 25NL to start....running at 6PTBB/100. Not a bad start. I made a few bonehead mistakes, but that comes from rustiness more than anything. The worst was mis-sizing a turn bet that should've blown my opponent out on a decent sized pot, but, instead, allowed him to catch the nut flush on the river.

Sure, come along! We'll buy you a Yoohoo and you can sit in the aisles and watch the grownups play cards. For money! If you're good, Uncle Pokey will even buy you a Happy Meal after the game.

Seriously, I've been carded once in Vegas. Mind you, I look like I'm 137, but it's rarely an issue so long as you're not making an ass of yourself. Also, if you go with a crowd of obviously-over-21-and-obviously-willing-to-spend-money folks (like us), there won't be any issues. Keep a low profile when you're alone and don't try to drink and you'll have no problems unless you look like Orange:

UPDATE TIME:
I got bored playing 4 tables and pumped it up to 8 and then 12. I was pwning 4 really hard, but struggled moving upto 12. I need to get my poker mind back. I'm running 18/6/2....yuck. I need to put my balls out there and PFR more.
Got coolered yesterday as I had A7 on a 772 board and the maniac had 22....ouch.
I've misplayed a couple of hands, but I'm really not being aggressive enough with my preflop raises and bet-sizes.

I'll continue on the current 25NL until I get used to 12-tabling again.

UPDATE: So, I put in about 4.5k hands after the OP until today.

Today, I put in another 4600 in just under 7 hours. I've been trying to 12-table.
My game is rounding into form.
I excelled today: 9.91PTBB/100 at 25NL while averaging over 10 tables at a time.
I really feel better with every hour. The game is coming back stronger than ever. Before New Year's, I should be 12-tabling 50NL.
I'm on pace! Holla!

Is no one else going to point out that making $1,000 per day is a really silly goal? Does the OP fail if he only makes $900 one day? Why not just have a goal of like $20,000 months or something that is actually possible? Just play good. This is so results-oriented it's going to hurt your psyche.

Or is he just trying to average $1,000 per day? anyway, gl, even though I'm confused.

I'm probably just reading it wrong. Regardless I don't think it's a good idea to tie your development as a poker player with how much you make in the next month.

and btw, now that I read it again ("I will be making over $1,000 per day at fullstack SSNL by the end of February"), it looks like he does mean he's trying to make $1000 per day each day by the end of February, and this 25nl stuff is just to improve as a player. He can clarify if I'm wrong.

the money is just a goal....it's an average per day
I put together some random charts looking at hands per day at 200NL and winrates. $1,000 per day seemed an achievable, but challenging goal. It's also a nice round number .

Yeah, I started at 25NL to get my legs under me again. It has been months since I played fullstack no-limit holdem. I'm going to move up every time I have 25 buyins in my PStars account. I have a decent bankroll, but am trying to mimic the steps anyone could take if they have some knowledge, study hard, and are dedicated to getting better at poker. I'm just trying to show what is possible, even for a donk like myself.

The more I'm in poker, the more I just get results-oriented. The decision-making idea is too easy to hide behind. Money is the way of keeping score. However, I have more than a full understanding of what kind of streaks are possible for the winning player.

Re: 10,000th post- My Mission: A JIHAD on SSNL opponents

oh yeah, I realize I'm playing microstakes now and posted this in small stakes.
It's only micro stakes until I get into poker shape.
I'll be back upto 100NL by the end of January.
200NL was my most consistent home for poker.
SSNL has been my favorite strategy forum for some time, so I like posting here better.
If you feel I should post the beginning in micro, well that's just your opinion man.

MTR-

At what level do you plan on making $1000 per day?

200NL....possibly 100NL, but that would require me working many hours. I cannot sustain $188/hr at 100NL like Isura

anyway...update time

My mind is finally gelling back into poker form after about 25k hands at 25NL. I struggled at first and had one extremely bad day. However, all the gears are clicking now after lots of study at flopturnriver and thoroughly digesting the poohbah posts. I had planned on spending this whole month at 25NL and all of January at 50NL. (100NL starting in February) However, it might be time for me to move up before I build too many habits that dominate the low level donks.

Here are my last 2 days (short on hands since I had bowling league and 8-ball league)

I love how I'm winning out of the blinds....ROFL

The only thing I'm displeased about so far is my reluctance to let go off AK and AQ at times.

Dude if your professional(Full time player) you should get from NL$25 6max to NL$100 is about 2 weeks.

i did it in 12 days as part of a challenge, infact got to NL$200 but only won 3buyins so failed my 5buyin challenge.

Anyhow NL$100 should be easy to reach within MAX 2weeks.

Good luck

hmmm....I'm a bankroll nit and follow Baluga's theory on moving up (from the poohbah stickies). Until I can get a 20k sample that is satisfactory, I will not move up.

I'm still a little unsure how this is going to work. "$1,000 per day" is for what period of time, all of February; a $28K month? Or are you saying you'll have a $1,000 day by the end of Feb?

Where is this famed OOT post everyone is referring to?

Good luck, btw.

Re: 10,000th post- My Mission: A JIHAD on SSNL opponents

woohoo....
I have pwned 25NL to my satisfaction. I'm now up over 25 buyins (28 actually) in 26,099 hands. I struggled at first, but the last 6 or 7k have been utter domination. It's now time to move upto 50NL. HOpefully, it will only take 20-25k hands at 50NL for me to demonstrate pure dominance and I can be at 100NL before January is over.

I averaged 9.87 tables at a time, while trying to 12 table at 25NL. My winrate was over 5PTBB/100 and was really climbing at the end (over 16PTBB/100 during the last 8k hands ). I'll post PT pics later when I have more time.

Everything is right on track for me to be creating havoc at 200NL by the end of February.

If I keep studying and manage to play a bit more, my goal is looking more achievable by the day. Of course, it's been nearly a week since my last bad day, so I'm crazy optimistic right now.

Re: 10,000th post- My Mission: A JIHAD on SSNL opponents

First 1,000 hands at 50NL.

I ran at just over 4PTBB/100.

Competition is noticeably better. It's quite a letdown coming form 15+PTBB/100 I've been running at 25NL lately. Players are much more willing to play back at my aggression. About .4 more grinders per table as well.
Anyway, still lots of holes as you all know and I'm ready to dominate it.

Alas, it's time to drink in the new year, so no more 50NL tonight.
