Loved what Bosh did today, the whole team played great. Delfino came out of nowhere, this is his first good game of the preseason.

PS. Jamario Moon baby! Please cut Luke Jackson and find a spot for Moon.

T_Mac 10-27-2007 03:29 PM

Re: ***The Official TORONTO RAPTORS 2007-2008 Thread***

Yeah Jamario is showing something, I like Luke too but the guy just doesn't have the upside Moon does.

Veecee 10-29-2007 10:26 PM

Re: ***The Official TORONTO RAPTORS 2007-2008 Thread***

Moon makes the team! Nice.

Luke gets cut...you're right T_Mac, he doesn't have the upside but I think the Raps would be better off cutting Darrick Martin.

Re: ***The Official TORONTO RAPTORS 2007-2008 Thread***

Oh I didn't even think of that, I think you're definitely right and if hes so valuable just hire him as a consultant or assistant coach or something.

Veecee 10-30-2007 03:23 AM

Re: ***The Official TORONTO RAPTORS 2007-2008 Thread***

They hired a new assistant coach (taking over for Jim Todd), Mike Evans. He specializes in PG play and has been great for T.J. Ford. Ford has already said on record that Evans has been great for him and changed his game for the better.

Although with so much depth at the 2/3 positions, it had to be Jackson or Moon.

We can't cut Darrick Martin. He leads the league in airball ratio AND field goals attempted per minute played. Superstar in the making!

LOL. You also forgot to mention that he is one of the best cheerleaders in the L (Jasikevicius takes that crown).

I don't understand all the low expectations this year. We had the best record in the East after Christmas last year, and with all of our young guys have only gotten better. I can't see us winning less than 50 if we stay healthy. My prediction is a 55-27 record.

Re: ***The Official TORONTO RAPTORS 2007-2008 Thread***

I'll admit the Raptors are a team that wouldn't surprise me either way.. they could win 38 or 53 and either way I wouldn't be shocked. But 55 is pretty bold. Not seeing anything less than 50 is the sign of a true homer.

I'm a huge Raptor homer, and yes, we did improve, but everyone else did more drastically. O/U on wins at 45.5 IMO.

The kid is that damn good. Too bad Smitch is completely out to lunch on how to manage this team.

Funny how the league sees him as coach of the year when Raps fans know that he just might be the worst coach in the league.

Re: ***The Official TORONTO RAPTORS 2007-2008 Thread***

Raps PWNED NJ tonight 106-69. woooooo!

Outstanding all around game by Raps. Amazing that raps did so well with Bosh essentially getting the night off. I don't think I've even saw him in the 2nd half. Bargnani with another outstanding night with 21 and a beast around the boards. He's turning into a superstar before our eyes.

Calderon, Dixon, Rasho, Kapono, Delfino all had an outstanding night. Everything is coming together for the Raps. The depth on this team is ridiculous. On garbage time with raps up 40pts, Rasho and Garbo who didn't play too much during the game were on the floor. These were our two starters for the whole of last season ....LOL!
I'm loving this team.

The playoffs last year was a head scratcher. I really think they got overwhelmed with the intensity as Rasho was the only one who had much playoff experience. I think Raps are on for this season.

HYOOOOOGE game vs Celts sunday. The raps will be ready for
this game. TJ and Bosh were on a mission tonight against NJ, but the real measuring stick will be against the Celts this sunday. I hope they bring it to the Celts like they did tonight.

It was beautiful. Bosh and the Raps were clearly waiting for this night. Swirks kept mentioning how bitter Bosh was after game 6 against NJ last year.

After a remarkable first year, the Raps are a much better team this season. Bargnani is an emerging star and the new pickups Kapono and Delfino have been outstanding.

Ya stupid [censored] Montreal. I can't get raps TV or League Pass with my cable provider. Interesting question if you could go pick in time and draft Barnagi or Aldridge who do you draft?

Veecee 11-02-2007 11:43 PM

Re: ***The Official TORONTO RAPTORS 2007-2008 Thread***

The development of this club since Colangelo hopped aboard has been nothing short of remarkable. The depth on this team is just an embarrassment of riches, we have the best bench in the East and the 2nd best in the NBA (Spurs).

Bargnani is such a stud, and it won't surprise me if he shoots 55-60% from the field this season. I know that seems like a long shot since his game is so perimeter-oriented but the kid is that damn good.

I love seeing this team win, especially while Bosh recovers and isn't really needed as much now. I've said it before, the play of Forderon is the main key to us winning and they are both playing outstanding.

And if the league isn't respecting us, that's fine. The Raptors are winning a playoff series this year, book it.

Ugh! This is a really tough one. Aldridge is such a stud and you can't go wrong picking him. If Bargnani keeps playing like he did the last 2 games we could see him take over the scoring leader away from Bosh, who is trying to focus more on rebounding this year. I really think this will be Bargnani's breakout year, he's bulked up and he's going to be a beast.

Veecee 11-03-2007 01:01 PM

Re: ***The Official TORONTO RAPTORS 2007-2008 Thread***

With Aldridge's injuries....Bargnani > Aldridge

Both of them healthy...Aldridge > Bargnani

Aldridge is a better complement to Bosh if you ask me.

Come on. Barnagi is sick, but 55% is ridiculous maybe he can get a TS% like that with all of his threes.

Veecee 11-03-2007 01:11 PM

Re: ***The Official TORONTO RAPTORS 2007-2008 Thread***

I said it seems like a longshot, but he never forces a shot, never takes a bad shot, and drills all his open jumpers.

55% could be too much, but I see him hovering around 49-50% realistically.
