i put barber last because of his fumble issues most of his career

You really think that a couple seasons with too many fumbles is more important than the fact he missed 6 games in his entire career?

Its pretty off base imo to put Wesbtrook at 1 and Tiki last when they are the two most similar backs, and Tiki is way way more durable.

I have no problem with saying you'd rather have BW over TB but putting them on opposite ends of the list based soley on fumbles isn't fair.

Edge is easily #1 IMO.

Before he blew out his knee he was the most dynamic back in the league. He had the receiving ability and speed of Westbook but with the size and durability to carry the ball 350 times. People have forgotten how great he was before the injury made him merely good.

Tiki played in 16 games 8 out of 10 seasons, 14 in one season and 12 in his rookie season. Thats pretty strong.

I see him as a workhorse back who could not be replaced by a backup (with anywhere approaching similar success) and I see him as being simply the best runner of all backs here.
Of course, I MAY be biased as an Alabama fan who loved watching him for four great years in college, but I think that I'm unbiased here.

Re: Rank these running backs

I'd say this order at the moment...

Terrell Davis
Tiki Barber
Edge James
Priest Holmes
Brian Westbrook
Shaun Alexander
Cliton Portis

I have to evaluate Davis on stats alone so this may be wrong. But, his numbers are insane. Look at his rushing totals in playoff games. Off the charts.

Tiki Barber towards the end of his career was an all-time great, led NFL in yards from scrimmage twice in a row. Marshall Faulk type production over a shorter period (not by much).

Edge is underated IMO. Yes, he did it with awesome talent helping but his numbers before Peyton became other-worldly were superb and Indy never missed a beat after losing Faulk. Priest Holmes similar to Tiki but with more overall talent on the offensive line, arguably two or more hall of famers. I may be disrespecting SA, oh well. Westbrook and Ports are both excellent but not quite in with these others of yet. I think Westbrook could move up pretty easily in a few more yrs.
