Christ those forums are SO TERRIBLE. Although from what I read of them original BBV sucks a little less than the other two (this is totally unqualified and easily refuted).

However, at the moment, this is the approximate readership of these three forums:

NVG: 380
BBV: 270
BBV4L: 150

OOT comes in just above the BBV4L readership and is probably third or close to it. In short, those three forums, as incredibly terrible as they are, own the pageviews on this site, I mean hell combined they could be greater than all the non-OOT forums combined. Barring something catastrophically stupid being done in those forums, I can't imagine anything would be done to them.

As an aside, I seem to remember NVG being fairly sleepy, now it's like the busiest forum on the site. How/when/why did this happen? The poker boom seems to have subsided and yet a bunch people seem to give a crap about Liz Lieu and Barry Greenstein and whomever? Seems weird to me.

I have always felt that NVG was the worst forum on the site in that it is potentially "hurtful". I'm not a big fan of gossip, personally.

bbv4life, to me, is just a bunch of harmless adolescent humor. I am much more a fan of adolescent humor. And I would fight to keep bbv4life, both because of my personal bias and as an asset to the site (i really don't see bbv as a "stain"), but if mason wanted to junk NVG, that would be okay with me.

I am curious if there are any defenders of NVG here. It is definitely one of our more popular forums.

When name players come to 2p2 they usually post in nvg.

IMHO NVG was best before Dids went to BBV, it was filled with lots of juicy topics every week and the ultra-dumb threads were either nuked or just didn't happen naturally (I don't know what Dids did, just taking a stab in the dark here). Lately its become the same as Pocket 5's/Neverwin - which is obviously popular as but in turn the real gossip component has practically been eliminated. I always read the old NVG 4x-8x a week at a minimum, now I check it 1-2x at most. I came to terms with the fact that NVG has grown, I am no longer the target consumer, and I'm cool with that.

I used to read NVG. I still click there sometimes out of habit and then realize there isn't anything I want to read there.

I've also found this strange as well. On the other hand, whenever I've spent time in the presence of "name players", they all came across as big gossips. So maybe it makes sense.

I would absolutely support a celebrity poker players forum with limited posting access. The interest from their perspective has not been there.

We posted at roughly the same time but I mentioned NVG's massive viewer count and it was >33% over the next forum. I'm not sure if this is the norm or not but when I've looked I've noticed a huge uptick over the past 1+ years.

It is definitely a low content goofball forum but I don't see how it could possibly be eliminated and its content absorbed by other forums. It serves a specific purpose. It just so happens that it seems to be overrun by idiots these days.

They all think they are newsworthy so they post there. If there is ever a celebrity poker players forum I should mod it because I have experience showing a number of famous players the door in B&M casinos (including one famous player that thought casino security would let him stay if he showed them his WSOP bracelets).
