Barry Greenstein definitely discusses how to control yourself emotionally very well. This is not an exact quoute but he says something like I won't let those jerks get the best of me when I'm stuck I will go home relax and watch a movie, whey they are stuck they will lose their control and I will pounce. His book is also in mp4 format on itunes. Its wonderful, its sooooo goooood Ive probably listened to it about 7 or 8 times.

If Alan Schoonmaker's book is as good as his Card Player articles I'm sure its great too!

I will definitely second Zen and the Art of Poker. After a bad day, there tends to be a chapter you absolutely must read.

Punk--

I know you're looking in the Books forum for a reason, but I gotta say that of all the players I know who have (mostly) conquered tilt, almost none of them did it with something they read in a book. Usually it's epiphany, or experience, or pride.

I just wrote something similar in another thread. Self-help books, which these are, pander to your cravings without being able to affect them. Whenever I got more emotional control it was due to life circumstances and/or acid. You have to know things are bigger than you before you can control the things that aren't.

But please carry on, because I don't care about anyone reading this, and you're temporarily holding my money.

The old saying is "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink." Well, people can give you advice on tilt until they are blue in the face, but only you can control your own emotions.
