I would hold onto it if it was that big. I've found 1 and 5 dollar chips and just tip the dealer with 'em. Could the dealer get in trouble for accepting this?

I once saw a quarter sitting on the poker podium in front of their monitor so they couldn't see it. I said "you have a quarter here". The reply was "We know! PLEASE TAKE IT (and don't tell anybody I said to). We keep hoping someone will just quietly pocket it so we don't have to do paperwork and nobody does."

I was told by security folks in the slot area of a NV casino, that as long as the $ wasn't touching their machine in any way, shape, or form, it's OK to pick it up.

Don't touch bills hanging out of the bill acceptor or coins in the bins...

On that subject, how about credits in a machine with no player?

Technically (in NV, and other jurisdictions to my knowledge), those credits still belong to the player who left them. It is my understanding that if he/she came back to claim them, whoever cashed them out or played them "stole" them from the player and could have charges pressed against them.

Doesn't make sense, I know, but that is the law. I saw it referenced once as "Theft of Lost Property". Can't find a link to the statute ATM, but it is real.

Just last night, the floor comes up to me, with security by his side and holding a $20. He says, "You ever play Monopoly"; I think "WTF did I pass a bad bill?!"

It turns out that I had two $20s stuck together when I bought in (I still don't know what the Monopoly crack meant); this was more than a half hour later, and I don't know how they knew they were my stuck bills. So immediately threw two redbirds to the dealer, because, hey, found money.
