god I really hope Punto doesn't start at 2B, or 3B or SS, I think I'd renounce my Twins fan status as a result of manager/gm stupidity

Nick Punto tried to club a baby seal but grounded into a double play instead.

Re: Interesting article - Projected 2008 NL lineups

LF Alfonso Soriano
2B Ryan Theriot
1B Derrek Lee
3B Aramis Ramirez
SS Miguel Tejada
CF Jacque Jones/Brady Clark
RF Cliff Floyd/Matt Murton
C Geovany Soto/Jason Kendall

Carlos Zambrano
Ted Lilly
Rich Hill
Jason Marquis
Sean Marshall/Horacio Ramirez

Ryan Dempster
Bob Howry
Tom Gordon

OK....

Miguel Tejada????

I hope Kendall's contract isn't renewed - Soto is the MAN and should start.

Jones should be gone - Cliff FLoyd is way past any prime he had - Murton should play or be traded.

Tom Gordon??????? Uh... yeah - obviously the author forgot about Carlos Marmol (package is a trade for the aging SS... o boy)

The Cubs have pursued Miguel Tejada before and should do so again. Felix Pie, Carlos Marmol and Ronny Cedeno for Tejada and Hayden Penn would be a very high price to pay, but GM Jim Hendry might need to gamble in order to keep his job.

I will happily join kyleb on the anti-Cubs bandwagon if this comes true.

if this happens, i may kill someone. that someone would be named Jim Hendry

You would have to stand in line with the rest of us.

Punto is fine as a utility player at best. If he is an everyday anything, God help the Twins.
