1) Get in more hands. I only got in ~33,000 hands for the month (25000 playing Omaha and 8,000 playing LHE). I'd like to get in at least 40,000 hands.

4) Add some balance to life.

I only averaged 16-17 hours/week. And in any downtime, I'd usually kill time dicking around on the internet, usually poker related. I know it sounds weird, but I don't think it's as big of a contradiction as you think.

You must be playing a metric ton of tables at once. I put in something like 200 hours this month and I only got 26k hands.

Actually, I guess it was closer to 20 or so hours/week: I underestimated how many hours I put in at LHE. I averaged 5 tables, but that can range from 4-9 depending on how I feel and how good the games are. I still need to get in more hands if I want to have any real shot at salvaging the year.

I think your perspective is wrong. Thinking in terms of how many hands you need to play leads you to focus on playing as many tables as possible, instead of on playing each hand to maximize EV. I don't know what your year is or why it needs salvaging, but I think making sure you're focusing on making the right decision everytime is way more important to your profitability then making sure you're squeezing out those extra 100 hands an hour. I know that personally there's a significant drop off in my bb/h when I try to play over 4 tables.

i only play 2 tables and thats it.

i started a chris ferguson challenge as of the beginning of september except i bought in for 500. i started out risky by only giving myself 10 buyins. i played mostly plo and my goal for october is to reach the next level with 20 buyins.

i agree with cmyr with most of his threads. i dont concern myself with hand amounts. i only concern myself with quality of play. even if it means i only play 10 hours a week. i make sure those are high quality hours. high quality hours add up.

see you guys at the top.
