The guy referenced in the original post, David Deutsch,
has a pretty interesting book called The Fabric of Reality.

The book highlights his strong belief in the multiverse, but also makes some interesting points about the foundations of science. Lot of useful material for the debates on this forum.

I have never known exactly what to think of David Deutsch. He's known mainly for "Deutsch's algorithm" in quantum computing, but he's also a been a huge proponent of the many world's interpretation. He certainly seems to like the public spotlight -- for example, he comes out with this press release claiming, as far as I can tell, some new consistency result for many worlds and how it's "one of the most important developments in the history of science" (yeesh!), but I don't see any new paper up on the preprint server.

It's gotta be true otherwise star trek next generation, as well as at least one episode of origiinal star trek (the one where spock has beard), don't make sense.
