By far the best part of the movie was how they romanticized the "knocking your fist on the table after a hand" action by making sure it was HEAVILY EMPHASIZED EVERY TIME IT WAS USED IN THE MOVIE, SO THAT THE CROWD KNEW THAT SOME VERY DEEP RESPECT WAS BEING SHOWN IN THIS PHYSICAL ACTION. Furthermore, isn't that usually done by the losing player in a hand to say "yeah, your hand's good, nh douchebag"? Yet in the movie, it was always done by the winning player (Eric Bana did it to Jen Harman after knocking her out, and his dad did it to him after he threw the series).

to those lucky enough to have seen banas earliest work on full frontal etc this still had some comedy value

Haven't seen it,

But Bana was in an Australian movie called chopper which is one of the best perfomances evar. Also Full Frontal was gold as well imho.
