No, I'd shove too... Re-raising with like 40-50% of your stack screams monster.

It doesn't make any difference really. When I say raise, I mean shove essentially. It's just presentational. He's never folding a better hand, we don't want him to fold JJ, it's not a disaster if he folds AK.

all in. he is calling with his entire range, we are probably slightly ahead of his range. live players are awful and you will see TT and AA here equally from an old nit in my experience.

Middle aged guy (50's, 60's) just got moved to table. 200/400/25. He raises to 2200 UTG, has 8500 behind. I have 27K, folded around to me with QQ on button. Your action?

That's a weak raise. I think he has TT/99. If you just call, with Ace or King on the flop, action will be slowed down. I would move all-in representing AK.

Awesome, not one person who responded recommended what I did, which was flat call.

Here's why I did it, I'd love to get comments on my thought process. I think his range is JJ-99, AK, with a sprinkling of KK and a remote possibility of AA. I thought that the same type of person who raises 5.5x with JJ, TT or 99 would talk themselves into a fold if I raised, which is why I didn't want to raise. I figured this type of person would also not bet the flop if an A or K came, unless they hit the flop, so I could safely fold after the flop if an overcard came to my QQ and Villain bet. Because the blinds are short, I'm not worried about giving them odds to call, they just can't call here, and if they shove, I'd be thrilled to call.

End result: flop came A T 4, all clubs. Villain shoved. I did not have the Qc. As much as I tried to find a reason to call, I couldn't come up with one, so I folded.
