I think it's pretty cool, he obviously doesn't care about money at this point, it's fun to challenge yourself.

Ferguson got into FTOPS on a $4 super satellite, which put him in the $50 satellite and got him the seat to FTOPS #8.

I think this is kool cuz he is proving a point to all the amature poker players out there, that u can go from a freerole to thousands of dollars. This is good for poker and I wouldnt be surprised if the owners of ftp came up with the idea themselves and figured they pay a pro to do it as a marketing idea.
