if you can't profitably open a9s utg, you're not beating your game well enough, I think.

totally depends on standard of opp's, stakes, stack sizes, image at table, opp's style, history etc etc.

This is one of those poker Q's that is totally dependent on the situation.

Suppose you are playing vs 5 players of this common type :
They repop you with any pp and AQ/AK.

Now the chances that you will got repopped are about 66% and you sure as hell better fold vs that.
So now you will get your blinds 2 times which is 3BB and you will lost your raise which is say 3.5BB.

You lose.

SOoooo its not that simple as in quoted sentence.

If they're 3-betting this much then you have really bad table selection.

But yes, open on a decent table, fold it on a tough loose/aggressive table.

I guess 66% is pretty high...
If I'm at a table with people constantly repopping UTG raisers with 22-66 in position, I'd probably start playing tighter UTG, but this isn't the most common situation in middle stakes 6max tables I guess.

Normally I guess you should openraise A9s UTG 100% of the times and be able to play it profitably.

I am not saying fold.
I am only saying that there are tables where it may be a fold.

[/ QUOTE ]That seems kind of spewy for a 6-handed game. How common is that?
