This is fine, against a passive opponent.

If he's a LAG reg I guess its optimal to go for the check/shove.

I guess I'm bad at math, I though you were a little deeper, I'd still bet like 45% of what villian has left though.

Ok but what is the point of this. Sorry Im really confused.
Is it to make sure he comes along with the widest range possible/ incorrectly

[/ QUOTE ]
yes people play so bad when you anger them with your bet size, nobody does this though, and you obv played your hand fine.

Shoving> Check/calling, but I can be convinced that something like betting 99.99 and calling a push can be optimal.

he has less than a psb left. i'd shove for sure.

i've been clamoring for a converter that showed how much people had left (or at least the effective size of a shove) but nobody's made one that i know of

Wouldn't it be much easier to play the turn if we bet more on the flop?

obv they could but you see a decent number of posts where it looks like people did not do the subtraction right. i'd also rather just see it in front of me than have to do the math.

How so? I think that making a turn bet so as to set up the river so a shove is about 90% of his remaining stack is optimal.

I am not sure what you are saying.

My reasoning bet something like $100 on the flop to charge possible straight or flush draws.
Now the pot on the turn is $314 and villain has $250 left as opposed to the pot here being $284 with $275. Villain might be more inclined to call in the former scenario than in the latter which means it is more likely that a push will be called by a hand we beat instead of only sets and two pair.

Re: Common turn spot w/ AA

You make a good point. However b/c of this villains stats, I highly doubted that he would hava draw or two pair on this board. Basically I put his range for calling my 3 bet preflop as AQ+,99+. SO since I have the ace of spades he cant have a flush draw. ANd If I bet 100 on the flop he probably folds QQ and JJ, while If I bet a smaller amount I might get a flop call. SO basically it is a situation where I know either he is down to two outs or I am down to two outs.
