I signed Krause several weeks ago to pursue a 1-year deal with an online poker "school" after I got him the 1-day deal with FullTiltPoker.net at an ESPN TV Final table.

I have a verbal commitment from Yang to retain me to do more work for him and I will need to hammer out a legal document with Yang in the next few weeks.

As for Kravchenko: he wants agents to do everything on a non-exclusive, handshake basis. He is essentially the "J.C. Tran" of Russia when it comes to doing business away from the table.

But if the producers want to sell the show to a Russian TV outfit to make more money, which Russian player would you want to invite? Kravchenko? Kirill? Ralph Perry?

Kravchenko is the obvious choice for 2008 with his 6 WSOP cashes in 2007 (plus a WPT cash at Mandalay Bay).

A lively Russian contingent in the stands screaming ROS-SI-YA! ROS-SI-YA! and waving a Russian flag will more than make up for the stoic personality of Kravchenko. Check out the ESPN video from the Main Event to air on October 9.

I have confirmed this with ESPN spokesperson Rebecca Gertsmark.

The 2007 US Poker Championship at the Trump Taj in Atlantic City will NOT be televised by ESPN.

Do you think the pros will still play in this or will the skip it?

FullTiltPoker.net will hold a televised event in Germany (to air as "time buy" TV on German sports TV network DSF) during the first week of October. (I am prepared to travel to Germany for that one, as I anticipate having 2 or more clients entered in that event.)

PokerStars.net will have European Poker Tour (EPT) stops in London on September 25-29 and in Baden, Austria (near Vienna) on October 7-10.

UltimateBet.net/AbsolutePoker.net will hold its event in Aruba on October 2-6 (to air as "time buy" TV on GSN in the US and Canada in December.)

WPT will hold its annual stop in Europe at Casino Barcelona on October 11-16.

In other words, the USPC will be squeezed by a number of competing events, all of which have TV coverage.

I predict a field of less than 100 players at the 2007 USPC $10K buy-in event.

Re: 2007 USPC NOT on ESPN

I'd be surprised if they got less than 100 players...there are plenty of local AC players who might play in this event but who aren't going to travel to Europe or Aruba for a poker tournament.

It certainly won't get as many as it would with TV coverage, but the event last year lost most of it's "big name" pros to the ill-conceived PPL draft and it still drew >250. The overlap between last year's Taj tournament players and the EPT isn't very large, and probably consists mostly of young internet players rather than AC locals.

I can understand why ESPN isn't giving this the sort of coverage it got the past 3 years, but I'm surprised they aren't even going to film the final table since like they did prior to 2004.
