I work at The Four Winds Casino, and I saw the WPT Poker Room. It is the most amazing thing that you have ever seen. The employees were playing on the tables. It is all computerized, there is no dealer. You play with a debit card that is provided by a terminal in the poker room. They are planning on having tournaments there in the future. Opening day is 10:00 pm on August 1, but the grand opening is 11:00 am August 2.

I really look forward to playing on the tables.I sent an Email asking about rake and what they are going to try to spread. 50 hands an hour sounds alot better than 32. also, you dont have to tip a computor.

If the tables are all electronic, I guess I'll still have to drive to the Resorts, that really sucks, I thought I was gonna save some travel time.

I haven't been to Resorts since it was Harrah's, and when it was Harrah's I hated it. Has it changed much? I liked Trump/Majestic Star II when I first went and have gone ever since, except for one soujourn to the Blue Chip, which I also hated.

The poker room will have all electronic poker tables.

How am I going to get my souvenir $1 chip?

I'm interested in trying out the electronic tables, but one of the things I like about playing live vs. online is using real cards and real chips.

No [censored] [censored].

This development does NOT have exciting implications.

From your post in the other thread you linked:

But still, change is sometimes good, and there may be some advantages. No dealer tokes springs to mind immediately, as does more hands per hour.

No [censored] [censored], as someone so eloquently put it. What insight.

I heard it is due to open early August. Anyone planning on checking it out? Suppposedly the WPT folks are running the poker room?

[/ QUOTE ]
The official opening is Thursday, August 2 at noon. It is a WPT-affiliated poker room, but no details have been released yet on when a WPT event will be there.

I've never heard of an electronic table.

I'm trying to get a hold of the poker room managers for more information, but haven't gotten anybody who knows anything specific so far.

[/ QUOTE ]

Ask for Glen in the poker room. I've heard he came from Greektown in Detroit, dunno if that's true.

And to clarify, the grand opening is noon or thereabouts on Aug 2, but the doors are opening at midnight. And I have been told by what I feel are very reliable sources that the doors will actually open at 10 p.m. Aug 1, when the VIP ticketholders for the pre admission/dinner are supposed to be finishing up. If you're coming the first day, I suggest taking the back way to Wilson road via Lakeside road. rather than exit 1 off I-94. It sounds like traffic will be bad.

And the rumor going rampant around here the last couple days is that Oprah has somehow or other reserved the high limit area of the poker room for something? Hey, I can't make stuff up this good.

Any of you casino people give us local yocals some inside info?
