Re: Inifniti G35x or Lexus ES330 or Mercedes E Class

I'll be more detailed:

The E-Class looks like something a soccer mom would drive. It's not that fast, or sporty, and your in your early 20's like me. So it just doesn't feel right. Also, it's German, so it is fairly reliable..but if something does go wrong the repair is going to be very expensive.

I like a lot of Lexus vehicles, and obviously they are very reliable. I don't like this one though. The newest body styles of ES and GS are very sporty, but your going to pay a high price for that. I still also think they are mainly made for a higher age bracket.

The G35 is exactly what I think a pro poker player our age should be driving(which is why I have one). They have a 50K warranty, so your probably going to be covered for a while. Its faster than you think it is, and best of all, it's AWD and you live in Boston.

The TL is a really nice car, and in no way want to say otherwise. Some people may really like the interior, but for some reason it bothers me. When I get out of a Nissan, and into an Infiniti, I feel a class difference. For whatever reason, I feel like Acura's are Honda's. The leather feels exactly the same. *shrug*

I'm very happy with my TL, and feel that the TL is the best value compared to the others. With that being said I just test drove the new redesigned 2007 G35 and would chose that over my car pretty easily. Although I have no experience with the pre 2007 g35's.

If you want a transportation appliance that gets you here and there and doesn't break, get a Lexus.

If you appreciate engineering and innovation, get the Benz.

If you like driving and take pride in your driving skill, get a BMW.

The E-class is just such a pleasure to drive that you will be hooked. You can buy old Mercedes'es, because basically they had the same comfort in mid 90s as most other brands have gotten recently and they stay so well, so I would look in the upper price range of models from around 2000 (above E-class). At least in Europe you can find great value for money there. This is all of course if you want a car that is nice to drive, they look old fashioned in the interior etc.., i.e. something like this:

It is about 90k here (47,000kms, built 2000), but probably much less in the US and I would guess around the price of your other options.

f all those cars, get a subaru legacy 05+ gt. the cars look sweet and are pretty fast with 250 hp plus a turbo. awd is standard in subarus too.

I was hoping that your response in the other thread was a joke and that you were not going to spend 25% of your new found money on a depreciable asset and another 25% learning how to day trade. I guess you were serious. Oh well.

edit: I guess the day trading was a joke.

Go with the Mercedes, it is the nicest of the bunch and will stay that way the longest.

Something about owning a Benz, no?
