I had almost this exact same thing happen to me the other day...was small blind with JJ, button limped, I raised, he pushed. I thought he was doing this light cuz I'd been fairly aggressive the last few hands (taking them all down, most of em were actually good hands), so I called and he had AQ (I lost of course)...dunno, just a weird play. I think you made the right fold though if he has a tighter image on you...but why limp the button with AA with tight player on BB? Ah well, people are crazy...should I have folded my JJ in similar situation?

I folded AQs which I thought was maybe pretty weak as I was clicking the fold button, but I chickened out

LOL-worthy results: he had AA and showed.

Obv doesn't necessarily justify my fold because it's just a stupid fluke thing. People are limping behind in LP with AA now? Terrific

Yes they are, and I am one of them. Only works if you have hyperaggro players behind you that love to raise up the limpers. I actually got called a fish for doing it the other night, lol.

Under the right circumstances, for sure, I agree it could be a pretty cool move. Here just seemed fishy to me.. my image was pretty TAG and he was going to end up seeing a flop with 3 other players a whole lot of the time. But I just happened to pick up a hand in the BB

Normally its PP or a hand like Aj...
i also felt like most of the hands i am raising with, unless i had 62o.
