I don't have trouble believing that aba was donating in the big omaha games say 3 months ago, but I do believe aba has an edge nowadays.

I have no idea whether he does or not, just noting that the site seemed up to date. Not that dropping 800K means you don't have an edge in those games, which is pretty sick. Anyway, it looks like NLHE has been pretty good to him.

+ He's missing out on rakeback that could be made playing on other sites

This guy is obviously missing much more than half of the hands, but it still seems to give the overall picture.

BTW, I believe Patrik said when he was a guest on Bluff radio that he was up 7 figures playing in the Big Game. Honestly I don't believe that necessarily says a lot. Aggressive shorthanded live limit poker... how long would that take to finally see who the best players are?

Let's be honest - the Big Game is set up to give as big of an edge as possible to the "old guard", which is made up of a lot of players that would never hold their own in a structure without ridiculous variance and games that are extinct in mainstream poker. Maybe then you wouldn't see guys like Eli Elezera, David Grey, and (dare I say it) Chip Reese beating the supposed game with the best all-around poker players.

In the latest interview he did with the Circuit, Greenstein talks quite a bit about the current "Big game" and how it takes place. It's pretty interesting stuff, as always with Barry, and I recommend everyone interested in these kind of things to listen to it.
One of the things he says is that they a lot of the time now indeed do play fewer games simply because of the new players and their inability to play them all.
He does touch upon too or indicate at least how that makes him worry somewhat about his edge.
He also says that eventhough Patrik isn't that experienced yet, he comes through because of his aggressiveness.

Comparing Eli and Grey with Chip, no matter how much he has lost online lately, I think is a little unfair.

chip plays quite bad online. he is def a good spot in the NL and PLO games. those losing #'s arent due to variance all that much imo.
