High only hands can definately show a profit at limit o8.

I also usually complete with any 2 wheel cards.

Interesting.....with only a high hand, you have to play much more cautiously post-flop if the low is out - eh? That's my problem. I don't know how to get out of high-only nut draws when the low is in play and I'm OOP with only a high play. Maybe as I gain more experience, I'll be able to complete more high-only draws too! You said it in your post--you get out. You only want to play a high only hand if low is impossible, which happens more frequently than one might think. Since limping high-only hands is so cheap and it's very easy to determine the likelyhood of low being possible (100%, 75%, 25%, 0%) on the flop, high ony draws are relatively easy to play--ie drop the draw in the 75-100% scenarios, play it in the 25-0% scenarios.

One should drop lots of high holdings on low boards--nut flush draws, wrap straight draws, top two pair, and hell, sometimes even made straights. This is all, of course, dependant upon pot odds, situation, etc.

I wonder what the percentages say in terms of frequency of hands that have no low qualifiers.

I've always been pretty tight about high-only hands because it's not always easy to get out of high-only hands when you have a draw to the nut high, but there is nut-low danger. I see your point completely and maybe should expand my game a little, but at this point, I just feel that I get trapped too often with high-only draws and that's its just easier to play for the scoop as often as possible.

Of course, it always depends the others playing at your table.

I think low makes around half the time by the river.

A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 q would be worth it. Unless this is the las flop of your life, then you should raise.

I think it is less than 40% and maybe even close to 1/3 of all hands that get a low. I'll look it up later.
