Clearly this is a communist conspiracy.

Seriously not one Canadian who has one a major award in the past 10 years has deserved it, excluding the NHL.

But we're friendly, eh?

I heard on ESPN News that one writer had Jeter 6th. I really want to know who.

I would have had Jeter around 6th. This isn't exactly leaving 1999 Pedro off the ballot.

It's just baffling that Morneau was the MVP over so many guys who had such an edge in the numbers. I thought these guys looked at HR/RBI totals?

HR/RBI/OPS
54/137/1.049 David Ortiz
35/102/1.058 Manny Ramirez
44/120/1.007 Jermaine Dye
42/117/1.098 Travis Hafner
42/109/1.014 Jim Thome

What do these men all have in common? Much better seasons than Justin Morneau. Frank Thomas, Paul Konerko and Jason Giambi are all right there too.

HR/RBI/OPS
34/130/.934 Justin Morneau

I guess he had a bunch of RBI, but you pick him over a guy with twenty more homeruns and more RBI and a far superior OPS? What in the world is going on in writer land? Jeter and Mauer had decent seasons, but weren't nearly as valuable as any of the guys I've mentioned already. If some other shortstop had that season for the Seattle Mariners he definitely wouldn't have finished in the top 10, and definitely wouldn't have a gold glove.

Oh and just in case people didn't notice cause he plays for a small market team in Minnesota...

W-L/ERA/IP/SO
19-6/2.77/233.2/245 Johan Santana

I think my ballot would've looked like:

1. David Ortiz
2. Travis Hafner
3. Johan Santana
4. Derek Jeter
5. Joe Mauer
6. Roy Halladay
7. Jermaine Dye
8. Carlos Guillen
9. Justin Morneau
10. Jim Thome
