Its because they expect you to slowplay with Top Pair. They can never figure out why someone would fast play top pair, sets, etc.

I actually have had people ask me why I didn't slowplay an overpair on flops that have flush draws and str8 draws..

The only thing going thru a donkeys mind in a hand like this is, "I wouldn't fast play top pair like this, so he's obviously bluffing. Ill call down with 2nd pair and show his bluffing ass."
