Vista works fine for me. I run Pokerstars, PT, and Pahud on it with no problems.. except for when I used flicker free drawing on PAHUD... then pokerstars starting freezing on me.

From a guy who does tech support:
use XP, you'll be much happier at the end of the day.

From a guy who tinkers with computers:

you could always make a VM of each and use both for a while and see which you like better. Then, when you realize it's XP, just use that one

it's too bad that everyone is struggling so much with vista. i think it is really a significant improvement over xp. i've had very few problems getting everything working with vista, and i would loathe going back to xp.

Vista looks prettier but that's about it

If you don't want to be tearing your hair out whenever you try to make something work, use XP

get vista if you get a new computer...

every new OS uses more resources...

its easy to handle and will improve with those servicepacks...

if you have 2 gigs memory get vista, else get xp

2gigs is the minimum they recommend when I got Vista. I upgraded with another 2gig flash chip, which really picked up the speed. Vista really likes flash memory plugins. I got mine from Kingston.com and was really affordable.

Here's what I got (I am NOT affiliated with them in any way)

DTR/2GB USB 2.0 DataTraveler w/ReadyBoost1 $52.00

I've had it for about six months and love it. I allocated all two gigs to flash and none to storage on the USB chip.

Seriously, vista is a huge improvement and not just graphically. Sucks people are too stupid to figure out how to make it work because I couldn't imagine going back to XP ever at this point.

I'm actually going through the incredibly painstaking task of downgrading Vista to XP as we speak just because I hate Vista so much. It's much harder to do on a laptop than a desktop.

Lol... at least give us a one paragraph summary of at least one thing you find better/faster/easier on Vista than on XP.
