this was a great opportunity to check-raise here. As you played it you should have seen his small bet as weak on that board (possibly bet trying to give himself odds to draw).

Don't mind so much if the pot gets big for a pair compared to FR because pairs hold more value 6max i think in theory, so you can play those hands stronger than you would at FR. At 6max though you need to be careful about the bigger hands you play because villains can have alot of different holdings than they normally would FR, once the pot does get fat.

the way you played it im probably check raising the turn, weak bet from him. but i lead in general and if he calls i'll check river

I don't like check raising here. I think because he bet $1 a lot of you guys are saying to check raise, but we don't know he'll do that. Check raising with such an exposed hand is going to scare A7, A8, etc, KQ, and it bloats the pot OOP when we can't control it on the river. What if villain smooth calls and the heart hits on the river? Where are you at now? A check could induce a bluff, or it could just be the flush wanting to get paid off. A blocking bet on the turn is fine, and another blocking bet on the river works too.
