Villian probably has four razz cards since he didn't reraise you on 3rd, which he would do with an A-8-x low hand. You have to take one off - you aren't in great shakes, but you're not toast either, and lots of good things could happen on 5th. Plus, you have position unless you pair up, at which time you're going all the way anyway unless your opponent catches an A or an 8.

Your blind raise on 3rd is a mistake, especially with an experienced mixed game player behind you who knows what you're doing and who won't be afraid enough of gambling to mess around with you. That's really the crux of this whole hand - he's sharp enough to know what's going on here, and now you're guessing at how you're gonna win half the pot. Against nittier players or those not used to the stakes, your blind raise is just dandy.

Easy call. There is no reason to believe he has an Ace, as that should isolate you on 3rd given your action. I dont want to get into a debate about 3rd, it is really an "in-game" thing, there are times it's going to be wrong and times where it's a sure lock.

I am a good stud/8 player, but the closest experience I have to regular high-low is in the nickel-dime-quarter games I used to play in that had a declare at the end. Game conditions were very different from high-limit mix games.

That said, while I take the other responders' replies seriously about the villain's likely range, nonetheless your hand goes against Sklansky's "paint rule" as laid out in his chapter in SS1. I would muck it and wait for a better opportunity.
