Bobo is right here.. Saying 21 at most means not 22.

the key is solving these things is that you absolutely DO NOT GO BY INTENT

the only thing you can go by is what the actual verbage is imo

21 AT MOST means less than 21, period imo

Tokyo wins

[/ QUOTE ]

In common speak it does not mean that. When someone asks you your age and you are 21, you say you are 21. You are always 'older' than what your answer is. If they asked you "are you older than 21" you would say 'no.' He bet that she was older then 21, that means 22. Without it specified that's what it has to mean. In a verbal contract there is definately room for interpretation of what the words meant. That is obviously what they meant.

**Corollary.**
We all lose.

this is retarded and not worth a thread. bob's just an attention whore.

i said ">21" meaning if she was in any way under 21, bob wins. that was my intent if you're going to be gay like that. someone who is under 21 is 20 years 364 days 23 hrs 59 mins or younger, and anyone else is >21.

edit: the reason i thought i initially lost is because i thought she was 20 as per reading 1986. then i realized her bday had passed.

I think you make a pretty good argument.

But she IS certainly older than 21 and I don't see Tokyo can lose regardless of what his intent was. He said she was older than 21 and she is.

I think Tokyo knows he was screwed, then realized he could get real technical and maybe argue his way out of it.
