Okay fair enough. I'm willing to concede this guy may have disserved a custom title. My point was the trend. Often, it's not called for. I was not trying to be a jerk -- I try not to rock the boat.

But I think we can agree the changing of titles is being overdone. That was my point. Please don't allow this questionable example to interfere with that point.

Unsolicited custom titles should be a clear no-no. Custom titles given by requestion I can't see any problem with.

The obvious exception being banned spammers or [censored] or something like that.

I don't mind mods occasionally giving custom titles to users who haven't requested it. But should a member decide that they don't appreciate a particular title they can ask for it to be changed back, of course. And unless the title is a * or 'exiled', those requests should be granted.
