I grew up watching Ninja Turtles, Saint Seiya (this anime was bigger than any other cartoon in Mexico), Thundercats, Dragonball.
I remember in fourth grade that sometimes I would watch Barney because I liked the songs, I had to keep it a secret otherwise other kids would make fun of me.
I think PBS programming for kids was pretty cool, Carmen San Diego was one of my favorite shows, even when it changed from geography stuff to history stuff.

I agree that Carmen San Diego rocked, even if just for the Rockappela or whoever the groups name was.

My parents wouldn't let me watch Mr. Rogers as a child, they didn't think he was a good role model. They believe he came off a bit strange, perhaps a bit too effeminate.

He definitely could have put on a bonnet and made an easy segue into the role of a church lady.
