Time for some dark days in St. Louis. LaRussa is certainly going to leave and Dave Duncan is probably out as well.

I understand that DeWitt hired some accountant named Jeff Lunhow a couple of years ago to eventually replace Jocketty and take a more financial approach to signing/developing players.

We all know that doesn't work so look for the Cardinals to be crappy for awhile. Eventually the fans will stop coming... People forget the 70s in St. Louis. You could buy tickets behind third base on game day.

And Lunhow isn't in the running for the job, so he's not an issue.

I've read some speculation on the Post-Dispatch message boards that the Cardinals are going a more Sabermetrics route. Is this true? Anyone?

I don't have any confirmation of it but I heard the same thing.

They already employ MGL (or did at one point).
