Re: NL100 extracting with set on A high flop
Argh Orange. Sooo many bad cards come on the turn to just call. He really isn't folding an A on the flop so 3-bet now. Any club/9/3/k/q is going to scare a Ax hand. I think this is a must raise.

What's wrong with just calling here? IMO 3betting is the same as a shove, meaning your raise is asking him, "Are you ready to play for stacks?"
We're about 80% sure our hand will still be best after turn. There would be ~40 in the pot so if villain leads turn 1/2 his stack will be in. Now he's committed and may not realize it. I suck fwiw. Someone set me straight on why this is bad. |

It's more a matter of a card coming off that kills our action. If opponent has AK here, for example, let's just get it in now when he's drawing almost dead. If we call on the flop and a club rolls off, maybe he'll get cold feet and then we've let him off the hook. |
Re: NL100 extracting with set on A high flop
He seems to be the kind who does bet pretty small, so if we just call and a non clubs comes, are we sure he will bet enough that we can pot-commit him with a raise?
