Well I sent Limesparks a PM just to make sure, before I put words into his mouth.

It's just a subtle way of 'poking fun' at the prevalent american viewpoint that 911 was the birth of human tragedy and nothing before it came close and nothing after it, save for another attack on american soil, ever will. I know there are people that actually have compassion for all men but we'd be lying to ourselves if we said we didn't know people that feel and think the way the previous sentence describes. It's not a trivialization or disrespect towards the emotions people feel concerning 911, but a chastisement that any decent person should feel these things about all men, not just americans.
