Quick question - exactly how bad is the rainy season in late October, early November? Still worth going over there for a few weeks at that time of year?

[/ QUOTE ]

Unless you plan to go in the south it won't be rainy anymore. And it's not really rainy even now.

[/ QUOTE ] About as hard as finding a virgin in Nana Plaza.

edit: They have a different name for it. Just go into a pharmacy and tell them you want "yaa baa."

re-edit: Seriously, don't do this.

That would be a really bad idea, you could potentially spend years in prison. Maybe try to get a prescription and then make sure you'd be allowed to bring some. I'm not sure "how" illegal it would be, but there's no way it's worth risk. Just drink red bull, it's really cheap.

I'll be in Bangkok in 3 weeks
I found some websites listing apartments and hotels at what seems to be a good price, esp. the last one:
http://www.bangkokapartments.info/
http://www.thaiapartment.com/
http://en.9apartment.com/

but if anyone has first hand experience I'm a taker cuz I don't really feel like checking out 50 different hotels on my first day there looking to spend ~12k thb/month max (not including water/electricity/internet...)
