Given the apparent lack of market for ARod, I don't think Santana can command $25M/year.

Lack of market? He got a ten year deal worth more than $300MM.

votto might not even be there this year lollerskates

Is there talk of trading him? I know Dusty loves to play vets while quality kids rot in the minors or on the bench, but c'mon. Even Baker has to be able to figure out this kid can and should be playing.

Then again, I can see Dusty giving someone like Conine 500 at bats. So glad the Cubs fired him.

TWO WORDS (free way, mos def, hot [censored]): scott hatteberg. hatte + dusty = sucks for votto.

unless you have faith hatteberg is traded. and faith + reds should not be in the same sentence.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hatteberg walks WAAAAAY too much for Dusty. Dusty hates the bases being clogged. No way does he get playing time. Then again isn't Votto an OBP machine as well? Dusty's head might explode.

Of course Manny even though he sucks at LF even more than Dunn.

[/ QUOTE ]

Manny's days of being a better LF option than Dunn have passed. It's that old guy vs guy in his prime thing.

[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, I hadn't looked at his stats. Didn't realize that he'd dropped 100 points off his slugging this year. Yeah, no way I take him over Dunn.

Hatte's probably got 5-10 points in OBP on Votto, but yeah, he gets on base a lot.

As much as Dusty isn't going to like Hatteberg's walks, he'll really hate Dunn. That dude walks a ton. Plus Hatteberg and Dunn are both white. And as Dusty has already stated, white players just don't hold up in the summer heat as well as black and latin players.

Dusty will demand Dunn be traded in Spring Training because hes always clogging up his basepaths. Dusty needs Kenny Lofton out there not Adam Dunn. Dusty Ball also requires a pure contact First baseman. Expect Sean Casey and Shea Hillenbrand to be contacted.

I know you think you're joking with the Kenny Lofton thing, but if you think about everything, trading Dunn and signing Lofton could net a huge win for the Reds. Either that, or I just got leveled.

Thats interesting, have to wait to see who got the better end of the deal. Does this mean anything in terms of Santanas possible destination?

As a Rays fan, I am for this.

Young has never shown any plate discipline, and they're loaded at OF anyways.
