so I could only listen for the first 3 innings. sounds like umps suck again (both ways)?

I think its better than last night, at least the strike zone is consistently big tonight.. the hitters have to adjust, but eventually they should start hitting byrd.

Of course as I'm typing this wake leaves one up.

you couldnt be more wrong.

[/ QUOTE ]

I bet I could. Remember, I'm the one who claims Ichiro Suzuki is a good hitter.

Wakefield is basically Jake Wesbrook, who just signed for what $13m/year?

or he's Paul Byrd, who makes $7m

I could go on, but I'm even boring myself

doesnt matter as crisp can't hit ever

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, he only drilled a line drive to the OF. I guess he should have tried for a broken-bat squibber. Get off the results-oriented stuff, you'll feel better.

this isnt poker. i would rather the red sox win the series and play worse than run bad, but play good and lose the series. so you could care less if someone robs ortiz of a game 7 game winning HR with a 1/100 chance of catching and you would say "Well, i dont care about the result, as long as red sox had a 99% chance of winning im happy, i dont really care that they missed the WS"

my defualt answer to "the oldest player to..." is jack quinn, though it's clearly wrong here.

also, franco was 43... ish.

[/ QUOTE ]

Franco has been 43 for about 9 years now. I remember freaking out when i got his baseball card when i was in first grade.

in 1985.
