That happened to me last night playing at the 2/4 table. Some guy had to be in the 50/30 range and yelled at everyone else for being donks. The best was when he flopped an underpair versus top pair and a flush draw. The card that setted him up on the river made his opponent's flush and they capped that [censored]. At showdown, he said something like "[censored] donk sucked out on me again" and I LOL'd.

It doesn't have to be for positive merit. If you really want one, you can do something so dumb that it's marked on you like a brand. For example, post some spam links every now and again. Sure, you'll get IP-banned, but you'll have that custom title.

It was a little mean for comedic effect (which, admittedly, flopped; guess bozlax still pulls off the Cantankerous Old Bastard persona better [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] ), but the answer's the same whether you're trolling for a custom title or not. In order to get a custom title, you have to do something that merits one.

Not so. Both of my custom titles came on the recommendations of others. While I am proud that my work has inspired them, it's not something I felt entitled to.

Gimmicks are good for many reasons, hell I have one (no one knows it!), but I don't see the need here.

Individual mods can do this if they wish, but they aren't all being logged by the reds or software. Mods also won't directly have that ability in vB. Essentially custom titles will have to go through an admin. This is less by choice than the mod panel being implemented in a different way.
