Good night!

It was a big day for Russia, as it's the first time when Russian made it to the FT.

Ralph Perry made it in 2002.

He's wearing a "Stiff Little Fingers" t-shirt. How can you not like him?

Pleased Kalmar is doing well. I used to play a lot with him in 2005 at Ladbrokes Poker when I was starting out. He was always polite at the table, and had quite a few good finishes in the bigger tournies.

Does anyone know how Nguyen was knocked out?? The pokernews website has tags on the players, but the Nguyen tag doesn't even have his last hand.

It wasn't really the last hand, it was the second to last hand. Hang on, I'll find it.

Featured Table: Philip Hilm Doubles Through Scotty Nguyen
Tuan Lam has the button in seat 1, Scotty Nguyen raises from the small blind to 530,000, and Philip Hilm calls from the big blind. The flop comes (Qc)(6h)(5d), Nguyen bets 600,000, and Hilm calls. There is now 2.36 million in the pot. The turn card is the (Kd), Nguyen checks, Hilm bets 1.2 million, Nguyen moves all in, and Hilm immediately calls with (5c)(5s) for a set of fives. Nguyen shows (Ah)(Qd) for a pair of queens, and he's drawing dead. (The meaningless river card is the (4h). The crowd goes silent as the chip stacks are counted down to see how many chips Scotty Nguyen has left. Philip Hilm has exactly 6.845 million. Scotty Nguyen has about 9.195 million. Hilm doubles up to about 16.05 million in chips. Nguyen is knocked all the way down to about 2.35 million.

Was a bad moment baby. Bad side of small ball.

I was too pissed to read Nguyen's crippling hand properly the first time.. Turned out to be a BvB cooler situation like I was dreading, I'm obligated to stab something I believe.

OK, thanks. Pokernews didn't have that hand under the Nguyen tags either - kind of crappy coverage. Did you find that there or a different site?

They have a 25K chip AND a 50K chip and all three chips are a shade of the same color? And I thought the card fiasco was the dumbest mistake ever.

[/ QUOTE ]

Every time somebody mentions this chip color thing it blows my mind even more. It must have been an intentional thing, for whatever reason I have no idea. I can see two, but THREE chips of almost identical color and in order of of denomination!?!?!? So bizarre.
