Did you have any problems downloading this from their website? Either I downloaded a corrupted zip file, or I suck at the internet.

I did check out their myspace, and they sound awesome.

no, i didn't... i just downloaded the songs from their myspace.

edit: apparently since i did that, you can't download them from their myspace anymore. they're supposed to email you the password for the download or something like that, apparently.

brett, what did you think of THS show? I thought all three bands kicked ass - that's pretty ballsy of The Hold Steady to put Art Brut ahead of you, given how much of a presence they have. Had never listened to Art Brut before but they were [censored] intense. Craig Finn is so lol; I loved it.

Art Brut definitely made its way back into my playlists after that show. Both them and THS kicked ass.

/edit I saw them like a month ago in Minneapolis.

2. Jens Lekman - "Sipping on the Sweet Nectar"

Ever listen to Orange Juice? I got their Glasgow School per a suggestion, and although it's a pretty old album, it sounds extremely similar.

Okay, let me just say thanks to 2p2, mostly nath, for getting me to check out Jens Lekman. I love the album absolutely, and "The Opposite of Hallelujah" has very quickly joined my all-time favorite songs. (It helps that I have a little sister and that the lyrics of that song really captured a certain feeling for me, but of course the music itself is great, too.)

Burial - Untrue is awesome.

I listened to some of this and I really like it. You should check out Tujiko Noriko's album Solo. It's similar, but different too. It might not resonate for you like it does for me, but I really like the song Magic.

Also, unrelated to that, anybody who likes really upbeat music should check out Muscles' Gun Babes Lemonade album. So good.

I missed the first band, liked the second one, really liked the third. I was fairly drunk, sorry can't be more specific.
