Re: BarryG - Online Poker should be legal in 6 months

There are so many possibilities here.

1) If Google or Yahoo opened, all would be great. I bet Google would cut rake so much because they are all about competition
2) Even if not, the competition will make bonuses so [censored] profitable. Imagine Harrah's, MGM, Bellagio, Stars, Tilt, and Party Poker trying to get people to play there. The year after this passes I bet grinder could make 100's of K's off of bonuses and rakeback from these sites all competing.
3) OMG the fish will come back too.
4) Table selection will be through the roof for 2/4nl+, instead of picking through 10 tables available at night right now.

= A+ for us. Even if they move taxes higher, I feel the sites will compete so much that the rake wouldn't change at all if not getting lower. Before Party had such a market share they could do anything they wanted, but as soon as Party comes back and you pull in all the B&M casinos, no one will have a market share quite like that and if they do it will have to be because of amazingly good things from that company(I hope!)

Plz no one point out how I'm wrong, I like dreaming, K?

Exactly. [censored] party when I can play at Harrah's Poker Room online. Imagine the possibilities.... online poker terminals within B&M Casinos in banks like slot machines....

if they regulate it then it's going to suck for players living in certain states because the poker sites will begin blocking players who reside in those states.... which is something they don't do now.

Even if rake does go up, I am sure easy deposit options will be avail and make every game more profitable.
Insofar as taxes on the player go, I doubt that they will change what we SHOULD be paying now. It'll just be easier for the man to track if accounts are in local banks.

I think there are three other states affected, one of them being New Jersey.
